About Broadside

Broadside is an NFT project by crypto pioneers Matt Mason (From DCNFTs, Kraken, Best-Selling Author) and Vector Meldrew (Crypto Artist, Game Designer). It was a book written by Matt Mason developed into a generative NFT art collection and book. Holders were also given a 3D avatar when the team launched basejump.

The NFT project stood out because of its vibrant community of eclectic artists, builders, and collectors. The collection itself uses many cc0 assets from other artists and other traits include rave culture making it a truly unique project with lots of depth. The potential for the project inspired us to get more involved and we would ultimately be consulted to help with their strategy for the evolution of it.

About B-Side

Broadside wanted to let the community build using the IP they built but not disrupt or muddle up their own work. They created cc0 assets for the community to use and promote their own derivative projects. It was here that we began to build our own web3 ecosystem. It began as small art projects and evolved into larger projects that often filled the space that the official Broadside team left open. In collaboration with the main project the two worked together in parallel to build and experiment in different directions.

Psy-Sci started with broadside to begin bringing web3 projects into his own alien project. A project that began with Soulseek Records. Psy-Sci's pfp project evolved into making versions of his own pfp of his close online friends. It was innevitable that as he explored web3 that it would apply to the nft and crypto communities he joined. It will move into more communities. Which one will be next? It was first an art project that took place on twitter and many broadsiders would change their pfp to the alien version of their broadsider.

Deadmall

It then became a service for sale on the Broadside marketplace called the Deadmall. Users would pay $bones for their pixelized pfp. It sold out quickly each time it was listed.

Trading Cards Series

I used my psyscied broadsiders project to select 30 of my most active community members for inclusion into a trading card game. I designed the cards and divided them up into classes based on their NFT traits. I selected NFTs with only cc0 rights. This was dont to ensure there were no restrictions when publishing it and the possibility of integrating it into the main project.

Bside 2037

Broadside Promotion

The community populated the leaderboards and an official launch took place during the Broadside weekly party. They livestreamed the gameplay as the community played and watched from inside the Broadside Bunker metaverse in Monaverse This is screenshot of gameplay

Launch Party Livestream

Reading the Broadside book by Charlie Stradford Rex inspired us to build the capture the flag game in the book to life. We designed the board, weapons, gameplay, etc... and brought it to life in Roblox. We worked together with the Broadside team and a couple community members to finalize it before launching it with a small test group. We had a music contest and selected a soundtrack for the game. The final product was an amazing representation of the game first conceptualized in the NFT book's early chapters.

RPG

Keyboard Warrior

Benivel took to vibe coding this old school RPG and we jumped in to help build it out completely. The result was a nostalgic game that summarized the book into an interactive experience. We built in some graphics and easter eggs to expand on the lore and published it here. This is now currently being included into a playable game by chatting with the AI agent created by psy-sci.

BSIDE Bases Island

We created another version of the BSIDE 2037 game within Nifty Island (A web3 metaverse) as well as include lore from the trading card game and other community project's assets. It was built as a sandbox as the card game was being developed as well as a place to promote the game.
